Important Links Encourage Others Mentoring Information Dear National Board Teachers, Johnny Carson once remarked, "It seems to me that we are all in the same boat as Christopher Columbus, when he discovered America. When he started out, he didn't know where he was going. When he got here, he didn't know where he was, and when he got back home, he didn't know where he had been." It is easy to feel that we are lost in this world. The rapid pace of technological changes, the number of people moving in this area, and the general complications of life make it difficult to feel that we are being successful. One way that we can make life better is to become a mentor. A mentor is someone who takes another person under their wings and helps them in navigating the tough waters of work and life. The dictionary defines a mentor as someone who is a wise and trusted counselor and teacher. Below is a list of attributes that mentors provide to others:
Chances are you are successful in your job because someone took you under their wing. Now is an opportunity for you to do the same thing for someone else.
