English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
ESOL services are provides to students who qualify based on an assessment of their abiity to understand, speak, read, and write English. Students are provided with intensive English language instruction in the basic subject areas.
Extracurricular Activies
There are many school-sponsored activities like clubs or athletic teams that take place either before or after school. Ask at the school you are interested in.
Mentoring Program
The Wakulla County Mentor Program serves students in all district schools. Interested students are matched one-on-one with volunteer mentors from the community. Mentors serve as positive role models by meeting weekly with their student to provide support and guidance. Call 926-0065 and ask for Tracy Dempsey to volunteer as a mentor. To request a mentor for your child, talk with your child's guidance counselor.
Service Learning
Service Learning projects give students the opportunity to use skills learned in the classroom while serving the community. Service learning provides development opportunities that promote personal, social, and intellectual growth, as well as civic responsibilities and career exploration.
