A student may earn the State of Florida High School Diploma by successfully passing a national test called the General Education Development (GED) test. The GED is a battery of five tests in the areas of writing, social studies, science, reading and mathematics.

The Wakulla County School Board offers and administers the GED in accordance with Florida Statute 1003.435. 

The GED test is administered once a month in Wakulla County. Advanced registration for the GED test is required.  The test is administered at the County Office Annex located at 126 High Drive, Crawfordville, Fl. It will be necessary for you to make prior arrangements with employers, transportation, etc., so you can attend each testing day for which you are scheduled, and to remain until the testing is completed. 

Students must be residents of Florida. Students must be 16 years of age to be enrolled in the GED Prep program. Students under 18 years of age are required to attend 48 class hours and have written authorization to take the GED test. Students must be withdrawn from high school, home school etc before enrolling in the GED Program. A Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) test is administered at registration to determine the functional grade level of the student. 

   No cell phones or electronic devices of any kind are allowed in the test area.  A valid photo ID ,  Social Security card  is required on the day of the test.

Registration for GED Test will close at NOON on the Wednesday before test date!

 
All NON-Wakulla residents can register for GED Testing 8 days before closing date of test.

You MUST have Valid Photo ID, Social Security Card and fees at time of Registration!

NO REFUNDS will be issued for any test fees.

GED Registration Criteria: The registration deadline for each test is the Wednesday prior to the testing date. Fees, a photo ID, and Social Security card are required at the time of the registration.  Candidates cannot register without fees, a photo ID, and Social Security card.   

Please Note: Registration is on a first come/first serve basis. Test sessions may become full at any time due to limited capacity.  

Cell Phone Policy

All cell phones, pagers or any other electronic communication devices are not allowed in the GED examination area.  If a candidate possesses an electronic communication device in the examination room, the test will be collected and voided. If a candidate photographs the GED test session, all GED test scores will be collected and voided from all GED candidates in the examination room. 

Personal Items

All personal items, coats, purses, etc are not allowed in the GED examination area. Please leave your personal items in your car. 

* Lock any electronic communication devices and personal items in your car before you enter the test room or surrounding areas.  You may leave your electronic communication devices and personal items at the front desk; however Wakulla Adult & Community Education and its staff are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or missing items.
