The Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund honors Americans in our Armed Forces who have sacrificed life or limb defending our country. Eligibility requirements: Students must be one of the following:
1. Dependent son or daughter of a U.S.Soldier, Sailor, Airmen, Guardsman or Marine who has become permanently disabled as a result of an operational mission or training accident.
2. Dependent son or daughter of a U.S. Soldier, Sailor, Airmen, Guardsman, Marine who has been killed in action.
3. Dependent son or daughter of a U.S. Soldier, Sailor, Airmen, Guardsman, Marine who has been classified as a Prisoner of War or Mission in Actions.
Applicants must also currently be in their senior year of high school and under 26 years of age. If you meet these qualifications, see Mrs. Simmons or go to www.FAScholarship.com.

The Stanley G. Tate Florida Prepaid College Foundation Board has announced that WHS 9th, 10th, & 11th graders may participate in a 500-word essay contest on: "The value of public service: How can a life of public service positively affect an individual and their community?" The winning student will receive a 2+2 Tuition and Local Fee Plan scholarship. Applications and guidelines are available in Guidance.

Hughes Exterminators is sponsoring a scholarship essay contest. The original essay topic is: "If I were an Insect, What would I be and why?" One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. Applications are available in guidance.

The Florida State University Chapter of Progressive Black Men Inc. is proud to announce a $300 Book scholarhsip opportunity available to high school male seniors in Leon, Gadsden, Madison, Wakulla, Jefferson, and Taylor counties who plan to attend The Florida State University in the fall semester of 2013. Interested senior men should stop by guidance and pick up a scholarship application.
