Florida has revamped its Bright Futures scholarship program. There are three major scholarships that provide for tuition and fees ranging from 75% to 100% plus a stipend. The main components are listed below.  Contact a guidance counselor for specific details or visit Bright Futures web site.

***Community Service Hours must be pre-approved, and students must complete the required form. Students must also turn in community service hours to Guidance before graduation.

***Seniors wishing to apply for Bright Futures may do so after December 1, 2012.  Applications MUST be completed by graduation.  All Seniors are Urged to Apply!

***SB2150 – Senate Conforming Bill:  Requires all Bright Futures students to file a FAFSA prior to receiving funding in the 2012-13 academic year. The Florida Department of Education (FDOE), OSFA will continue to determine the student’s academic eligibility for a Florida Bright Futures Scholarship. The postsecondary institution will determine (along with residency and citizenship), whether or not the student has submitted his/her annual FAFSA before funding Bright Futures. The FAFSA must be complete and error-free, but does not have to indicate financial need. Notifications have been sent to initial and renewing students.
